In the context of gender pharmacology and the pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics of drugs, there is the project titled "Gender-based evaluation of the effect of mitotane on total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides levels in patients with adrenocortical carcinoma." This project was presented as a poster during the 10th Congress of the International Society of Gender Medicine held in Padua on September 16-17, 2022, and it won the "IGM 2022 Young Investigators Award for the Scientific Contribution." The study assessed the interaction between mitotane pharmacokinetics and treatment-induced dyslipidemia in patients with metastatic adrenocortical carcinoma, taking into account gender differences and the reproductive period of the female population.
