⌂ Outreach and awareness
"Knowledge is the first and most effective weapon against ignorance and any form of discrimination that may arise from it."
Spreading knowledge is one of the main objectives of those who do science. Communicating the results of research and their impact on everyone's life is, without a doubt, the mantra of our laboratory: gender-specific health concerns everyone, always, and everywhere, and educating humanity about gender differences in medicine – and beyond – helps us become more aware citizens and less violent ones.
"Everyone has the right to freely participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts, and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits."
Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, paragraph 1
Based on this reflection, the Minister of Health in Italy, in collaboration with the Minister of University and Research, has issued the National Training Plan for Gender Medicine. The aim of this directive is to spread knowledge about gender differences in terms of health, and also to train specialists (and not only them) in adopting a gender perspective in their healthcare practices. To learn more, refer to the National Training Plan for Gender Medicine.
