The Clinical Pharmacology Service "Franco Ghezzo" is located within the University Hospital (AOU) San Luigi Gonzaga in Orbassano (Turin). The laboratory is part of the Department of Clinical and Biological Sciences at the University of Turin.
The San Luigi Hospital was established in 1818 as a specialized facility for pneumology, initially in a different location. It was originally located in Turin and later moved to the Tre Tetti area. It was only in 1970 that the hospital was situated at its current location at Via Gonzole 10 in Orbassano, Turin.
With the establishment of the University of Turin in the early 1990s, San Luigi witnessed a significant increase in hospital specialties. This led to the hospital assuming the title of "University Hospital" in 2007, a title it still holds today.
Currently, the hospital is home to a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery, the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (C.L.I.), and several postgraduate specialization schools. This fruitful collaboration has allowed San Luigi Hospital to become a cutting-edge multispecialty center that integrates scientific research, education, patient care, and professional training.
